WVDP Legislators: Legislature Has Failed to Act Amid Job Losses in West Virginia
Since the Legislature began its session in February, hundreds of West Virginians have lost their jobs—in Morgantown, Fairmont, Parkersburg, and Barbour County, among others—due to Republican policies at the federal level. The Republican supermajority has passed no significant legislation in West Virginia to address this crisis, which will only get worse based on the recently announced tariffs.
At this press conference, House Democrats took stock of the legislature’s missed opportunities and wasted time with fewer than ten days left in session.
