West Virginia Democratic Party Statement on the Passing of Delegate Larry Kump

Charleston, WV — The West Virginia Democratic Party today expressed its deepest condolences on the passing of Delegate Larry Kump, who represented House District 94.
Delegate Kump devoted his life to public service, building a long and distinguished career in public administration and as an arbitrator, mediator, and criminal justice professional. His work reflected a lifelong commitment to accountability, public policy, and the effective administration of government. Whether serving in his professional capacity or as a member of the House of Delegates, Larry approached his responsibilities with seriousness, integrity, and a genuine desire to serve the people of West Virginia.
In the Legislature, Delegate Kump was a thoughtful and engaged lawmaker who brought a unique and valuable perspective to the House of Delegates. Drawing on his extensive professional background, he contributed meaningfully to discussions on public policy, governance, and the criminal justice system. He possessed an independent streak and was confident in his convictions, but he carried himself with humility and respect for others. Colleagues on both sides of the aisle recognized his sincerity and his dedication to doing what he believed was right for his constituents and the state.
