Workforce Development

In the new economy of today, workers will be faced with changing work requirements, the challenge of changing jobs many times in a career and the continual need to gain new education and improved skills. West Virginia must help our workers address these realities.

We pledge to support the following:

• The development of great basic skills reading, writing, mathematics and technology skills among our public education students so they can become life-long learners;
• Comprehensive workforce development programs to aid our workers in education and training needs; and,

Job-training partnerships between our colleges and universities and our businesses.
